This page explains how AuroPrep’s questions are checked, corrected and kept up to date, and how the AI tutor is kept to its sources.
Review before publication
Every question is checked by at least two reviewers, including a consultant ophthalmologist, before it is published.
Reviewers check that the answer is correct, that the explanation supports it, and that the question matches the level of the exam.
This applies to the easier “Foundation” versions of questions as well as the originals.
Sources
Every explanation names the source it rests on, so you can check it against the text yourself.
Exam dates on our guides are checked against the Royal College of Ophthalmologists’ examinations calendar, and each guide shows when it was last updated.
The AI tutor
The AI tutor works from the question’s own explanation, answer rationales and references, and from related explanations already published in the bank. It is instructed to answer only from those, and an answer that cites none of them is discarded.
If those sources do not cover what you asked, the tutor is instructed to say so rather than answer from general knowledge.
After publication
We track how each question performs. A question that few trainees answer correctly is flagged so we can re-check it.
You can report a problem with any question while you practise. Reports go to our team.
Corrections
When we correct a question, the earlier wording is kept on record.
A question we can no longer stand behind is withdrawn.
Independence and limits
AuroPrep is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. Our questions are written for revision and are not past exam questions.
The bank is a revision aid. It is not clinical guidance and should not be used to make decisions about patients.
