About AuroPrep
Last updated 3 October 2026
AuroPrep is a question bank for FRCOphth Part 1 and Part 2 Written, Duke Elder and the Refraction Certificate, with referenced explanations and an AI tutor that cites its sources.
What it covers
Four exams: FRCOphth Part 1, FRCOphth Part 2 Written, the Duke Elder undergraduate prize exam and the Refraction Certificate. Each has its own question bank and a free revision guide.
The Refraction Certificate is a practical exam. Its bank covers the theory behind the stations, not the stations themselves.
How it works
Every question comes with an explanation and the source it rests on. An AI tutor answers follow-up questions from that explanation and its references, and is instructed to say so when they do not cover what you asked.
Questions you get wrong come back on a spaced schedule, and the dashboard shows your overall accuracy and your estimated readiness in each subject.
Who checks the questions
Every question is checked by at least two reviewers, including a consultant ophthalmologist, before it is published. Our editorial policy sets out the whole process.
We do not publish reviewers’ names.
What it costs
You can try 15 questions free, with no card. After that, access is a one-off purchase for a fixed period. Nothing renews. See pricing.
Independence
AuroPrep is independent. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, which sets and runs these exams.
It is a revision aid, not clinical guidance. See our terms.
