Terms of Service
Version 2026-08-14 · Last updated 14 August 2026
1. Who we are and what this covers
AuroPrep (“we”, “us”) provides an online question bank and study tools for UK ophthalmology examinations, including the FRCOphth Part 1 and Part 2, the Duke Elder exam and the Refraction Certificate. AuroPrep is operated as a sole proprietorship registered in India, and you can reach us at support@auroprep.com.
These terms are the agreement between you and us. They apply when you create an account, buy access, or use any part of the service. If you do not accept them, please do not use AuroPrep. How we handle your personal data is set out separately in our Privacy Policy.
2. Educational use only, not medical advice
AuroPrep is exam preparation material written for qualified doctors and medical students. It is not clinical guidance, and it is not a substitute for your own professional judgement, your local protocols, or current national guidance.
Do not use anything on AuroPrep to diagnose, treat or manage a patient. Questions are written to discriminate between candidates under exam conditions, which is a different job from telling you what to do at the bedside. Explanations cite their sources so you can check them, and you should. Clinical practice moves, and an item that was current when it was reviewed may not be current when you read it.
You remain responsible for your own clinical decisions and for the standards of your regulator and employer.
3. Your account
You need an account to use AuroPrep. Give us accurate details and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it.
An account is for one person. Sharing credentials, or letting anyone else practise on your account, is a breach of these terms. Roles beyond a normal trainee account (contributor, reviewer, administrator) are assigned by us, never self-selected.
4. The free sample
Every new account gets a one-time sample of 15 questions so you can judge the bank before paying. It is released once you confirm your email address, and it is a lifetime allowance: it does not reset monthly, it does not reset when you delete and recreate an account, and it is not restored after a refund. Once it is used, continuing requires a paid bundle.
The allowance belongs to an email inbox rather than to an account. Registering again from a variation of an address that has already had its sample — an address with a tag, or the same Google mailbox written differently — creates a working account, but no second sample.
5. Purchases and access periods
Paid access is sold as a bundle covering a fixed period, priced in pounds sterling. A bundle unlocks the exams in that plan’s scope for its duration and then expires. AI credit packs are sold separately and top up a standing balance.
Nothing renews automatically and we do not store your card. Payment is taken by Stripe or Razorpay on their own hosted checkout. Access is granted as soon as the payment clears, which is why we ask you to accept immediate delivery at checkout. Refunds and cancellation are covered by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Prices can change, but a change never affects a bundle you have already bought.
6. Acceptable use
The question bank is the product. You may use it to revise, and that is the whole of the licence. You may not:
- copy, scrape, screenshot in bulk, or otherwise extract questions, explanations or figures;
- use automated tools, scripts or headless browsers to harvest content;
- republish, resell, share or upload any part of the bank, including to revision groups or AI services;
- share your account, or use one account to serve several people;
- attempt to bypass rate limits, entitlement checks or any other access control.
We enforce this technically as well as contractually. Content is watermarked to the account that received it, questions are served one at a time under rate limits, delivery is logged, and marker items are distributed so that leaked material can be traced back to its source. We may suspend an account that trips these controls while we investigate.
7. Intellectual property and contributed content
The questions, explanations, figures, software and design are ours or our licensors’, and buying access gives you a personal, non-transferable right to use them for your own revision. It transfers nothing else.
Your private revision notes stay yours; we do not claim ownership of them. If you post a comment, answer or other public contribution, you keep ownership but grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, moderate and distribute it as part of the service.
If you author or edit questions through the contributor Studio, that content is commissioned work: you grant us an exclusive, perpetual, worldwide licence to use, edit, publish and distribute it as part of the question bank, and you confirm it is your own work and does not reproduce copyrighted material from any examining body or publisher.
8. AI features
The AI tutor answers only from the material we retrieve for it: the explanation and references attached to the question you are on, plus related published explanations. It is instructed to say so rather than guess when that material does not cover your question, and every clinical claim it makes should carry a citation you can check. Answers that fail those checks are refused rather than shown.
Even so, the tutor is a study aid and can be incomplete or wrong. AI marking of written answers is advisory: it is there to give you a structured second opinion, not a grade, and the final score on a constructed-response question is the one you record yourself.
Nothing the AI produces is clinical advice, and section 2 applies to it in full. AI usage draws on your credit allowance, and we may apply fair-use limits to keep the service available to everyone.
9. Community conduct
Comments and votes are there to help other candidates. Keep contributions civil, on topic, and free of patient identifiable information. Do not post exam material recalled from a live sitting: it breaches the examining body’s rules and we will remove it.
We moderate contributions and may edit or remove anything that breaches these terms, without owing you an explanation for every decision.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is being used to extract content, or where we are required to by law. Where a breach is minor and fixable, we will normally tell you first.
If we close your account for a breach, unused access is not refunded. If we close it for any other reason, or we stop offering the service, we will refund the unused portion of any bundle you have paid for. You can close your own account at any time from your Account page.
11. Availability
We work to keep AuroPrep available, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free. We may take it down for maintenance, and we may change, add or withdraw features. Content is reviewed before publication and monitored afterwards, and we correct errors as we find them, but we do not warrant that every item is free of them.
12. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Subject to that, we are not liable for your exam result, for any clinical decision taken in reliance on our content, or for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of opportunity. Our total liability to you for any claim connected with the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
If you use AuroPrep in the course of a business, the statutory protections given to consumers do not apply to you.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version and date at the top of this page show when they last changed, and continuing to use AuroPrep after a change means you accept the updated terms. Where a change materially affects your rights, we will give you reasonable notice.
14. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country you live in, or your right to bring a claim there.
Questions about these terms go to support@auroprep.com. For a complaint, see our complaints procedure.
