No. The Refraction Certificate is a practical exam, and nothing replaces supervised hands-on refraction, which the College treats as essential. This bank is a theory companion that drills the optics and refraction knowledge behind the exam so the hands-on skills come more easily.

Is the Refraction Certificate a written exam?

No. It is a practical OSCE of ten stations covering retinoscopy, subjective refraction, binocular balancing, focimetry and lens neutralisation. There is no written, multiple-choice or viva paper.

What does the question bank actually cover?

The optics and refraction knowledge the exam assumes: retinoscopy and focimetry principles, prescription notation and transposition, working-distance and dioptric conversions, and cross-cylinder and binocular-balancing principles, each with a referenced explanation.

How long do I get access for?
